Report on Bolivia part Uno

Abstract:
We had two construction projects: pouring footings for a water tank, and building a septic system for flushable toilets.

Body:
First, I want to share two pictures. The first is from when we worked on the Internado two years ago.

And here is the Internado now:

Amazing stuff! Ixiamas has changed quite a bit in two years. The footpath that we took from the hotel to the project site is now a dirt road. Last time, there was only one public phone in the town. Now there are three Entels where you can call and use the internet. There were many more vehicles.

We had two construction projects: pouring footings for a water tank, and building a septic system for flushable toilets. Those have since been completed by the Auburn Wesley Foundation interns that went on the same trip.

Here is work on the septic tank:

One day it rained us out:

We also put up a hand rail on the stairs leading to the second floor:

We moved all these bricks from about a quarter mile away. In the rain. It was a blast.

We bought some new wheelbarrows for the Internado as well.

That's me and Pam, the music director of Fairview.

Construction is only a small part of what we did. I'll post some more pics soonish.
