How About "I Was Wrong?"

Abstract:
It is interesting to me that it has become not only possible - but acceptable - for public figures to ask for forgiveness without actually saying "I was wrong."

Body:
It is relatively easy to ignore Pat Robertson and his mad, mad comments. But I almost wish he would have just let it go instead of "apologizing." It is interesting to me that it has become not only possible - but acceptable - for public figures to ask for forgiveness without actually saying "I was wrong." Insensitive, absolutely. Inappropriate, certainly. Wrong? Nahhhh.

Book recommendation: Do No Harm. Of course, the premise of the book is that preachers mean to do no harm and do so unwittingly. Some preachers do so very wittingly.
