Reflection on Reflection


Abstract:
CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) has been a good experience for me. I'm actually disappointed that it's almost over - though I will be glad to have my Thursdays back.

Body:
After I had a chance to complain about the low attendance this past Sunday and how discouraged I was, one of my colleagues asked,
"do you plant a garden?"
"Yes."
"Really? What do you grow?"
"Beans, okra, tomatoes."
"And how long do you wait after you plant the seeds before you give up and figure they aren't going to sprout? Two days? Three days?"

Hrm. Maybe I am a bit impatient.

"And how long has that church been there?"
"150 years."
"And how long have you been there?"
"3. But please don't tell me I have to wait 147 more before I see something happen."

We shall see. Who knows what could happen?
