Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant
Abstract:
He woke up every day saying, "this is the day the
Lord has made - let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Body:
Papa died around 11:00 last night. He had been in
intensive care for over
eight weeks. Though his heart did great after the surgery, his lungs
simply couldn't recover. As recently as a week ago, we were thinking he could
still pull through. But even death is a kind of healing. He isn't suffering any
more.
Mom, Dad, and Grandma have had quite an ordeal through the whole thing. I think we're all pretty emotionally tired.
He woke up every day saying, "this is the day the Lord has made - let us rejoice and be glad in it." He prayed for the pastoral staff of his church - out loud - every day. He spent his life teaching and leading. Before the surgery, he said, "I've had a good life." Yes, indeed.
